The Book of the Small Prophet Malachi Chapter 3

Book of Prophet

Malachi

 Chapter

3

¹ See, I am sending my messenger to prepare the way before me, and the Lord whom you seek will suddenly come to his temple. The messenger of the covenant in whom you delight-indeed, he is coming, says the LORD of hosts.

(Book of the Prophet Malachi Chapter 3 verse 1)

Oh God my beloved Father, I am eagerly waiting for Your second coming, even though I am still a sinful person and subject to You. However even though I know that You are a just God, I know that You are also a kind and loving Father, who will not overlook my sins but will see the intentions behind those same actions, which were not always that bad Amen.

² But who can endure the day of his coming, and who can stand when he appears?  For he is like a refiner's fire and like fuller's soap; ³ he will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver, and he will purify the descendants of Levi and refine them like gold and silver, until they present offerings to the LORD in righteousness."

(Book of the Prophet Malachi Chapter 3 verses 2 to 3)

Oh God my Father, who can endure Your presence. I just made a small experience of Your presence when You called me to follow You and I was on the verge of a heart attack, let alone being exposed for a whole day in Your mighty presence. Many like myself will become aware of their sins and will gnash their teeth in sorrow and regret the day when, we did not change our lives and that we continued to sin in Your presence. When we realise that  what is written in the Bible is all true one would feel deeply moved and sorry that one had criticised it and tried to find proof to show that You are not God. Many such people will be greatly disappointed to find out that You do exist and this would be a great shock or trauma Amen.

⁴Then the offering of Judah and Jerusalem will be pleasing to the LORD as in the days of old and as in the former years.

(Book of the Prophet Malachi Chapter 3 verse 4)

Oh God my beloved Father, how I wish that the faith in Malta is much more blazing than it is today especially when compared to ancient times when many people were not as educated as in the present times. Apparently the more we eat of the tree of knowledge of the world the laxer we become in relation to issues of faith. This is something that I can neither accept or understand my God and Father Amen.

⁵ Then I will draw near to you for judgment; I will be swift to bear witness against the sorcerers, against the adulterers, against those who swear falsely, against those who oppress the hired workers in their wages, the widow and the orphan, against those who thrust aside the alien, and do not fear me, says the LORD of hosts.

(Book of the Prophet Malachi Chapter 3 verse 5)

Oh God my avenger, You are ready to stand up before me and confront those sources that cause me to sin against You, my weaknesses and even those people who have hurt my feelings to the point of causing me great damage since I was a child and even to the present times. I thank You for implementing Your justice, for the struggle is not mine but Yours. I pray that I learn to trust completely in You and only then I will have nothing and nobody to fear. Amen.

⁶ For I the LORD do not change; therefore you, O children of Jacob, have not perished. ⁷ Ever since the days of your ancestors you have turned aside from my statutes and have not kept them. Return to me, and I will return to you, says the LORD of hosts. But you say, "How shall we return?"

(Book of the Prophet Malachi Chapter 3 verses 6 to 7)

Oh God my Father, I thank You for Your unchanging love for me. Even though I am under the discipline of Your stripes, and am passing through hell, I still believe that You love me. Amen.

⁸ Will anyone rob God? Yet you are robbing me! But you say, "How are we robbing you?" In your tithes and offerings! ⁹ You are cursed with a curse, for you are robbing me-the whole nation of you!

(Book of the Prophet Malachi Chapter 3 verses 8 to 9)

Oh God my beloved Father, if there is a thief in this sinful world it is the evil spirit of Satan, who is persuading many of us not to obey You and walk in Your ways. This evil spirit is indeed cursed and is a curse in oneself. He is robbing the souls of those who commit crimes against humanity and others who are not righteous in their dealings with mankind. I pray for Your justice to be implemented my God and Father on all who are guilty of such crime may it be spiritual or even material Amen.

¹⁰ Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in my house, and thus put me to the test, says the LORD of hosts; see if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you an overflowing blessing.

(Book of the Prophet Malachi Chapter 3 verse 10)

Oh God my beloved Father You ask of us to be sincere and generous in our contributions, however even if we are not, You will still remain faithful to us, for You know what we are made off, our strong points and even our weak points Amen.

¹¹ I will rebuke the locust for you, so that it will not destroy the produce of your soil, and your vine in the field shall not be barren, says the LORD of hosts.

(Book of the Prophet Malachi Chapter 3 verse 11)

Oh God my beloved Father, You have the power of controlling nature in its totality, You have the power to stop viruses from attacking crops humans and even livestock, You have the power of eliminating terminal illness such as all forms of cancer. I pray that You have mercy on us, especially children and elderly who are the most vulnerable elements of our society Amen.

¹² Then all nations will count you happy, for you will be a land of delight, says the LORD of hosts.

(Book of the Prophet Malachi Chapter 3 verse 12)

Oh God my Father, how I wish to be a land of delight, for as You now my heart is filled with sorrow. I really wish to see my daughter but I am being denied this opportunity because of a verbal declaration that I made in a moment of anger that I did not wish to see her. Oh God my Father, everybody is holding this against me. I pray that You forgive me even if everybody condemns me with a harsh penalty Amen.

¹³ You have spoken harsh words against me, says the LORD. Yet you say"How have we spoken against you?" ¹⁴ You have said, "It is vain to serve God. What do we profit by keeping his command or by going about as mourners before the LORD of hosts?

(Book of the Prophet Malachi Chapter 3 verses 13 to 14)

Oh God, my beloved Father, in this sense I have also spoken against You, for I have said what's the use of living this meaningless life if I have nobody to live for. However, in my desperation, I did not consider that I am living for You and not for myself Amen.

¹⁵ Now we count the arrogant happy; evildoers not only prosper, but when they put God to the test they escape."

(Book of the Prophet Malachi Chapter 3 verse 15)

Oh God my blessed Father, in the eyes of the world, the arrogant appear to prosper, and they also appear to have prospered, however, in truth the prosperity of the world is a complete failure according to the criteria of God Amen.

¹⁶ Then those who revered the LORD spoke with one another. The LORD took note and listened, and a book of remembrance was written before him of those who revered the LORD and thought on his name.

(Book of the Prophet Malachi Chapter 3 verse 16)

Oh God, my Father nothing that we say or do is ever in vain because You take note of all our actions Amen. I pray that when we come to meet You, there will be many pages of Your book filled with such good deeds Amen.

¹⁷ They shall be mine, says the LORD of hosts, my special possession on the day when I act, and I will spare them as parents spare their children who serve them. ¹⁸ Then once more you shall see the difference between the righteous and the wicked, between one who serves God and one who does not serve him.

(Book of the Prophet Malachi Chapter 3 verses 17 to 18)

Oh God, my beloved Father, I pray that always be yours and always be counted with those that are yours Amen.

I would like to end this third chapter of the book of Malachi with the following prayer.

Oh God, my Father please forgive us when we were not always honest with You when we sided in favor of the world instead of You. I pray that You consider our human weakness and consider us as being as frail as the little children that we really are Amen. I pray for mercy Amen. Thank You, Jesus.
